Texas Quick-Draw Competition
[Grade Groups do NOT apply]

Centennial Building, Fair Park
This competition allows students to enter a science bowl-type of event without prior registration. A fee of $1 per person is charged to keep the students “involved.” Teams of up to 4 students can assemble to answer a rapid-fire string of science questions. Grade Groups do not apply. Registration will only be accepted at the site.
Each competition offers different questions, but of equal difficulty. Teams can only compete once. Score 5 points for each correct answer; lose 5 points for each incorrect answer. Team members can confer on each question.
The winner will score the highest number of points by the end of the competition. Contestants, or at least a single member of the team, must be on hand to receive the prize and trophy.
Creativity Activity Competition

This competition allows students to share the enthusiasm of Winston Science without prior registration. A fee of $1 per student is charged to keep the students “involved.” Teams of up to four students can assemble to solve a problem. No grade groups apply.
The winner will be the team that most successfully solves the problem by the end of the assigned time period. The trophy and prizes will awarded at the end of the event. A contestant, or at least one member of a team, must be present to receive the prize. No prizes will be awarded after this specific time.
