Purpose
The purpose of this competition is to encourage students to explore the beauty of numbers, and to appreciate the relationship of one number to another.

Procedure

  1. This is an Individual Event. Contestants will meet at 7:30 PM, Friday, November 16th, at The Winston School
  2. Students will want to bring the following:
    1. calculator
    2. pencils and scratch paper

The Competition

  1. Contestants will receive three distinctly different kinds of problems involving a number solution.
  2. Contestants will be evaluated based on:
    1. First: correctness of answer
    2. Second: amount of time it takes to achieve the correct answer
    3. Third: supporting of correct answer (yes! this means that you must show your work)
  3. There is no partial credit for any problem.

The Winner
The winner of the competition will be the contestant that achieves the highest combined score on the three questions.
The winner will be announced at a special awards ceremony scheduled for 3:30 on Monday, November 19th.
