This competition is designed to provide students with a meaningful experience using Forensic Science.

• Students with no forensic background should attend a special workshop opportunity with mini-courses in fingerprinting, hair & fiber analysis, blood analysis, toxicology, anatomy, handwriting, and liquid chromatography etc.
• Students already having a background in Forensic Science go directly to the competition phase of this event.

(1) Contestants will form a team of three to four students to participate in this competition. Teams under 3 students will not be allowed to participate.

(2) Teams without experience in Forensic Science should attend a forensic workshop. They will share mini-courses that will equip them with the skills to help solve the “crime".

(3) Teams with experience in Forensic Science go directly to the competition phase to receive the “crime” information. Teams have until two hours to solve the case and turn in their solution to the crime.
Evaluation
(1) Judges will use the following criteria to evaluate the solutions:

(a) Accuracy of the solution
(b) Did the team use all available evidence to solve the crime?
(c) Did the team present a thorough written solution to the crime?
