The Competition
(1) Using wooden popsicle sticks and any type of glue, build a model of the Eiffel Tower. Tongue depressors are not popsicle sticks. No other materials can be used.
(2) The tower may be painted at the discretion of the contestant.
(3) The contestant that builds the largest tower that most resembles the Eiffel Tower will be declared the winner.
Construction
(1) The tower can be constructed in parts and reassembled inside the Centennial Building at Fair Park.
(2) The tower must be able to stand on its own four legs without the assistance of its builder(s) or other exterior supports.
Evaluation
Judges will use the following criteria to evaluate the tower:
· Does the tower resemble the Eiffel Tower?
· Is the tower proportional?
· Beauty?
· Height
· Use of correct materials
· Neatness
