The Competition
(1) Teams will be composed of four students.
(2) On arrival at the competition site, teams will draw for an Order of Competition. This will allow students to observe other events and return to the site in time for their duct tape efforts.
(3) Each team will bring one large roll of duct tape. Any brand of “duct-type” tape can be used so long as it is not classified as “heavy duty.” For example, no Gorilla brand tape.
(4) Teams will be supplied with a small stool to use to help support the team member being taped on the wall. Students are prohibited from standing on the backs of other students during the competition.

(5) Teams will have 90 seconds to tape one of their team members to the wall. Special care must be used to not suspend the member in any way that would be detrimental to the health of the student.
(6) Timing begins when a student pulls the first strip of tape from the duct tape roll.
(7) You will be notified when you have 60 seconds left, 30 seconds left, 15 seconds left, then 10, then 5-4-3-2-1. When time runs out, you will be told to stop any efforts to tape, remove the stool, and step away from the wall. Your Suspension Time begins when the stool is removed.
(8) The moment any part of your body touches the ground, time will stop.
(9) The team whose team member remains suspended from the wall for the longest period of time will be declared the winner.
(10) OBSERVERS: Only team members will be allowed in the East Course during this competition. Interference by observers may cause a team to be disqualified.
(11) The winners will be awarded their prizes at the Awards Ceremony scheduled for 7:30 PM on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Winston School.
