The purpose of this competition is to focus on civil engineering and the “art” of stacking cards.

Competition

(1) Students should practice stacking playing cards prior to arriving at the competition. No other advance preparation is required.

(2) On arrival at the competition site, teams will draw for an Order of Competition.

(3) When a Contestant’s Order of Competition arrives, they will receive two decks of playing cards, and will be allocated a spot on a stable table.

(4) The Contestant will have 5 minutes to build the tallest structure. At the end of the time period, contestants will be asked to “freeze” where they are. The judges will then carefully move around the event site measuring the height of the structures.

(5) This will be an on-going competition. The results from each round of competition will be tabulated and the winners announced at the end of the competition.
