Over 26,000 participants are expected to take part in Winston Science 2008, a 20-day series of events designed to help motivate students in the sciences. Hosted by the Dallas Mavericks, HDNet, and The Winston School, students have the opportunity to take part in 66 events, hear outstanding presentations, and work with scientists from across the country.
WINSTON SCIENCE begins November 8th at the Winston School with a series of Forensic Workshops, and culminates with the huge, crowd-pleasing day at Fair Park's Centennial Building on Sunday, November 23, 2008.
WINSTON SCIENCE LIGHT, scheduled for Saturday, September 20th, includes the NEW Geocaching Competition and the Cardboard Boat Competition.
WINSTON SCIENCE ROCKETS, scheduled for Saturday, October 18th, includes the New Water Rockets Competition, Revised Rocketry Competition, and Rocket Engineering & Building Competition.
November’s WINSTON SCIENCE MAIN EVENTS introduces the NEW Cardboard Armor Competition, the New Cheese-making Competition, the New Miniature Hovercraft Competition, the Revised Texas Quik Draw Competition, and the NEW Card Stacking Competition.
Returning are the Balsa Wood Bridge Competition, Texas Tower Competition, Root Beer Brewing Competition, Leaf Blower Hovercraft Competition, the Popsicle Stick Suspension Bridge Competition, Adventures-in-Duct Tape, and many other exciting events.
ScienceFEST scheduled for Thursday, November 13th. Come hear some of the leading scientists discuss the latest breakthroughs in their fields of study, and take part in exciting hands-on labs and workshops.
